KATHMANDU: The three-day ninth national convention of Nepal Veterinary Association concluded here today, electing a new executive committee under the leadership of Dr Adarsha Pradhan.

Dr Bimal Kumar Nirmal, Dr Subir Singh, Dr Sital Kaji Shrestha and Dr Rajani Pradhan were unanimously elected vice-president, general secretary, secretary and treasurer respectively, for the next two year. Dr Dodhraj Khanal was unanimously elected Editor-in-Chief for the NVA publications.

The conference, which was inaugurated by the Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nembang, was attended by around 300 vets of the country and as many as 60 technical papers on a host of veterinary science were presented.

Likewise, on the occasion of World Veterinary Day 2010, which falls on the last Saturday of every April, the NVA observed a grand procession. Musical band of Nepal police and horse squad from Nepal Army had also participated in the procession. Last year, NVA had grabbed a world-level award from World Veterinary Association for conducting the best procession in the world.
