About Nimbus

Nimbus, an Agribusiness Enterprise, for the last 10 years has been in the field of Animal Health and Nutrition. It has to its credit many firsts in the Animal Health and Nutrition sector of Nepal. It started as a feed supplement manufacturing unit, focusing on exports to India; graduated to marketing feed supplements and veterinary medicines in the local market followed by feed grains trading by creating an effective rural distribution network. Further, Nimbus used its rural distribution network to market veterinary medicines from ELANCO (Animal health division of Eli Lilly) USA, Alltech USA and vaccines from Merial FRANCE, all over the country.  It was soon followed by feed grains trading. All these activities and experience led to the path of setting up a pellet feed mill in 2004, Probiotech Industries Pvt. Ltd, is the first pellet feed mill in Nepal.

Today, combined, we are approx. NRs 6.00 Billion business with more than 400 employees, a sales team of 60 with14 depots, 110 dealers, 500 sub-dealers across the country. We reach out to 8000+ farmers in 65 districts of Nepal. Our employee base comprises of experts from the related industries, including veterinarians, JTAs, Engineers, MBA graduates, Chartered Accountants, Agricultural and Financial consultants. We work or have worked with companies like Suguna, Godrej, Shanthi Fortune, Ranbaxy (VENTEX-Pfizer) in India, some of the large ones in our sector, which has sharpened our business acumen, insight, appetite and also skills.

Probiotech deals with approximately 20 products in animal feed, another 20 in feed supplements and around 20 more in fine chemicals, vaccines and medicines. It’s the largest importer of fine chemicals for animal nutrition in Nepal. It has the largest and most advanced grain storage facility with four silos installed at its premise at Birgunj. The combined capacity of the storage facility holds up to 25,000 MT of grains at any point of time.

In an aim of business integration and expansion, Probiotech has installed a state of art soybean extraction plant in the manufacturing premises. The soybean by-product is used in feed mill for feed production as well as sold in the market under the brand name SOYAMAX.

The feed production facility is well equipped with a fully functioning laboratory where extensive research and development activities are carried out. A full-fledged Wet Chemistry Laboratory, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Lab and Near Infra Red (NIR) Lab ensures thorough quality test of our products before they are launched in the market. This further eliminates the lengthy wet chemistry process which takes days to complete. Multiple parameters can be checked in just 5 minutes. These tests enable the stricter control on raw material selection and quality control of finished goods.

To strengthen the poultry industry Nimbus has been contributing in every possible way. It has been regularly conducting training to its poultry and livestock farmers and dealers across the country. Some National and international organizations have been collaborating with NIMBUS to provide trainings to poultry farmers. Nimbus has associated with Practical Action, an NGO in a project funded by IFC (International Finance Corporation, part of World Bank).to provide training on poultry management.
